The 32-year-old had six months left on his contract at Ibrox, but he has now opted for a move back to Italy.
Vanoli has wasted little time in sorting his future out having already agreed a two-and-half year deal with Serie B outfit Vicenza.
The former Italian international moved to Rangers last summer from Parma, but on-loan French defender Gregory Vignal has been preferred at left back by Gers boss Alex McLeish.
