Fergie only wants Gers
Barry Ferguson only wants to join Rangers, according to Mark Hughes.
Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that Barry Ferguson has his heart set on a move to Rangers.
Rovers are considering Ferguson's transfer request over the next couple of days, even though Hughes wants to pair his captain with new signing Robbie Savage in the midfield engine room.
Although some reports have suggested Newcastle United could be keen on the Scotland international, particularly in the light of Nicky Butt's injury setback, the former Gers skipper seems determined to return to Ibrox.
When asked if Rangers were the only club that Ferguson wants to join, Hughes answered: "That's what he has said to us, yes."
David Thompson bagged a brace in the FA Cup replay win over Cardiff City on Wednesday night and Hughes admits he may have to prepare for life without Ferguson.
"We will look at the likes of Robbie Savage, David Thompson and Garry Flitcroft," continued the Rovers boss.
"So I have good options."
