Ronaldo refutes feud claims

Ronaldo insists he has not fallen out with Real Madrid boss Wanderley Luxemburgo.

Ronaldo insists he has not fallen out with Real Madrid boss Wanderley Luxemburgo following his angry reaction to being substituted last weekend.

The Brazilian was fuming after being taken off against The Islanders, a team now managed by former Internazionale boss Hector Cuper.

Cuper and Ronaldo had a strained relationship during their time together at the Serie A giants and the striker wanted to put one over the Argentine coach by scoring.

However, he was hauled off with eight minutes remaining to be replaced by Santiago Solari, and made his frustration clear in the tunnel as he made his way to the dressing room.

That sparked speculation of a feud with Luxemburgo, but Ronaldo has played down the claims.

"No-one is untouchable here, but they always substitute me," he stated.

"I don't know any player who is happy when they are taken off. I was annoyed and angry.

"I always want to play and help the team. But the anger was in the tunnel.

"If there was a camera there then that was bad luck, but I did not make a gesture on the pitch out of respect to my team-mates and the fans.

"Wanderley does what he believes is right for the team, I don't think he uses me to make an example. I am not fed up.

"I accept what the coach says and do not ask for explanations."

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have revealed that they have ‚é¼169 million to spend on players this year and reports in Spain suggest that they have captured Brazilian wonderkid Robinho.

The club's sporting director, Emilio Butragueno, stated that although the enormous sum will probably not all go on the playing squad, it was there if needed.

Madrid are desperate to compete with Chelsea in the market and believe that they have beaten Roman Abramovich to the best young player in South America.

Spanish sports daily AS claim that Robinho has agreed to move to the Bernabeu in July after sealing a five-year deal with Madrid.

It goes on to state that his current club, Santos, accepted the offer of ‚é¼18 million as long as they could keep him for this season's Copa Libertadores campaign.

There is a clause in the deal which allows the transfer to be cancelled if Robinho suffers a serious injury between now and July.
