Hertha agree Mansiz deal

Turkish international striker Ilhan Mansiz has joined Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.

The 29-year-old 2002 World Cup star, whose career has been blighted by a series of injuries, has been handed a one-and-a-half-year deal at the Olympiastadion.

Mansiz been out of contract since the summer after leaving J-League outfit Vissel Kobe

He has spent the last few months in the German capital recovering from a knee operation and has now been handed the chance to resurrect his career in the Bundesliga.

No details of his contract have been revealed although Hertha bosses stressed that his salary was strongly linked to his fitness.

Mansiz will continue working closely with the club's physiotherapists although it would appear unlikely that he will be available for selection until March at the earliest.
