Gers leading Nonda hunt

Rangers are reported to have agreed a pre-contract with Shabani Nonda.

Rangers are reported to have agreed a pre-contract with Monaco striker Shabani Nonda.

The Scottish giants are one of a number clubs chasing the Democratic Republic of Congo international.

Nonda's future a Monaco remains uncertain, as his current contract expires at the end of the season and he could leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.

Juventus have been strongly linked with the powerful striker, but now reports emanating from France suggest Rangers are leading the chase for Nonda's signature.

Nonda is believed to be keen on a move to Ibrox to link up again with former Monaco team-mate Dado Prso.

The player's agent John Dario admitted Rangers are very keen on the striker, but that Nonda will not rush into making a decision over his future.

"Rangers are much attracted, but they are not alone," said Dario.

"Shabani won't rush on the first offer, and he will take time to think about."
