Palace fail in Coco bid

Crystal Palace look set to be thwarted in their attempts to sign Francesco Coco.

Crystal Palace look set to be thwarted in their attempts to sign Internazionale defender Francesco Coco.

Palace are keen to sign the full back on loan to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.

The Eagles, who enjoy a good relationship with Inter due to previous transfer dealings, made an enquiry about signing Coco on loan for the rest of the season.

However, Inter do not appear willing to let Coco leave the Giuseppe Meazza while they are still in the UEFA Champions League and Coppa Italia.

The player's agent Claudio Vigorelli revealed that Inter blocked a proposed move to Palace for Coco.

"Coco is staying at Internazionale," Vigorelli told skysports.com.

"Crystal Palace were interested in signing him on loan for the rest of the season.

"I had a meeting with Inter officials and they have said they do not want him to leave and at the moment he will be staying with Inter.

"They do not want to let him go as they do not have many defenders and only have Coco and Giuseppe Favalli who can play at left back."
