Villa blast Angel
Villa are unhappy Juan Pablo Angel took their second penalty against Fulham.
Aston Villa's assistant manager Roy Aitken has revealed the club are unhappy Juan Pablo Angel took the club's second penalty against Fulham. The Colombian ace, who opened the scoring for the visitors, had already seen one penalty saved and decided to chance his luck for a second time against David O'Leary's wishes.
Angel missed the second spot kick and Fulham ultimately snatched a point in the contest thanks to Lee Clark's last gasp strike.
O'Leary did not want Angel to attempt the second penalty and the club have now taken the South American ace off penalty duty for the remainder of the campaign.
"He [Angel] should have stepped aside, which the manager isn't best pleased about. Juan's not on penalties for the rest of the season," explained Aitken.
"It doesn't feel like a defeat. It feels like two lost points. To lose a goal with the last kick of the game was frustrating.
"That should have been our second away win this season. It's been two points lost tonight.
"We played so well at time. The equaliser was their first shot on target in the second half. The penalties have cost us the game."
Youngster Luke Moore was introduced at half-time for the ineffective Carlton Cole and won his side both penalties at Craven Cottage.
"He's been doing very well in the reserves. He's a good young player. I think he livened up the game when he came on," added Aitken.
