No FA action over tunnel spat

Graham Poll is satisfied he sorted out the tunnel bust-up on Tuesday night.

The Football Association have confirmed referee Graham Poll is satisfied that no action needs to be taken for the tunnel bust-up prior to Manchester United's 4-2 win at Arsenal.

Poll spoke to Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira as the rival captains clashed ahead of the kick-off to Tuesday's six-goal thriller.

Keane later claimed Vieira had tried to intimidate Gary Neville and he was urging the Frenchman to try picking on him instead.

Poll calmed things down and went on to assert a good deal of authority on what was always going to be a powder-keg occasion with the bad blood between the two clubs continuing this season.

"We have received a report from referee Graham Poll following last night's Arsenal v Manchester United Premier League fixture in relation to an incident in the tunnel prior to the match," said a statement on The FA's website.

"He has confirmed that he is satisfied that he dealt with the incident at the time.

"Therefore, no further action is required."

Keane and Vieira look set to lock horns again when Republic of Ireland entertain France in the World Cup qualifiers on September 7.
