Dawson follows Reid to Spurs

Michael Dawson has beaten the deadline to sign for Tottenham.

The defender headed down to London on Monday afternoon with team-mate Andy Reid for a medical after Spurs agreed an £8 million double deal with Nottingham Forest.

Reid passed his medical and agreed terms before signing on the dotted line late on Monday, while Dawson's talks were still ongoing.

There was less than an hour to run on the January transfer window when Dawson completed the formalities of his transfer to make him a Tottenham player.

"I'm so glad it is sorted and I had no doubts about the move whatsoever," the 21-year-old told Spurs' website. "When the chance to come to a place like this came along I made up my mind straight away.

"It has always been my dream to play in The Premiership, there has been a lot of speculation over the last few years and finally my chance has come.

"I can't wait to pull the shirt on and hopefully do well."
