Cobblers sign Noble

Fulham youngster Stuart Noble has been farmed out to Northampton Town.

Fulham youngster Stuart Noble has been farmed out to Northampton Town.

Cobblers boss Colin Calderwood has raided the Premiership club for the promising forward after watching him in a series of reserve team games.

Northampton are handily placed to claim a League Two play-off berth and have now bolstered their attacking ranks with the signature of Noble.

The 21-year-old Scot has enjoyed a number of loan moves in recent seasons, with his most successful spell coming at St Johnstone - where he netted five goals in nine appearances.

Last season he spent a similar spell with Woking, while earlier this campaign he saw a loan period at Torquay cut short by injury.
