Robben fears broken foot
Arjen Robben fears he has broken his foot and will miss the rest of the season.
Arjen Robben fears he has broken his foot and will have to sit out the rest of Chelsea's campaign. The Dutch winger, who has made a massive impact during his first season in England, limped off early on in The Blues' 1-0 win at Blackburn Rovers last Wednesday following a strong challenge from Aaron Mokoena.
Robben is still to discover the full extent of his problem, as his foot is currently too swollen to assess the damage he has sustained.
However, the 21-year-old is already fearing the worst, and believes he may have suffered a recurrence of the injury that ruled him out for almost three months in pre-season.
"It is a massive blow and comes just at the moment when I was in top shape and very fit," he stated.
"But now it is worthless and I have to fight back for the second time this season.
"I hate it because I know I am probably out of the game for weeks and weeks.
"Even now, I feel that one of the bones in my foot is broken again."
Chelsea will be desperately hoping that Robben's injury is not as serious as the player himself fears, as they are approaching a crucial juncture in the season - with four trophies still in their sight.
