Eyal Berkovic has returned home to Israel after leaving Portsmouth and launched a scathing attack on Velimir Zajec.The 33-year-old has shunned offers to remain in England and has instead opted to return to his homeland after nine-years away.
"The longing to return to Israel, my family and friends and a decision not to drag the children to another new home were the decisive factors," he said.
"I love soccer and I have no plans to retire just yet."
On Zajec he said: "If you really want to know what I think, I'll tell you - I can't stand the sight of him.
"To drive from London to Portsmouth each day and not to play was just too much for me.
"I am not 100% fit but still keep in shape as I run between five and six kilometres each day - I have a few months to rest now but will return a month before pre-season starts and train on my own."
