Leeds seal Derry swoop
Leeds have finally completed the capture of Shaun Derry from Crystal Palace.
Leeds United have finally completed the capture of Shaun Derry from Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee.The Whites had been set to land the 27-year-old midfielder last November, but the deal collapsed at the last minute.
Derry had been on loan at Nottingham Forest, but he was recalled enabling him to pen a two-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road.
Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell believes the player's aggression and determination will prove add the right attributes to his squad.
"He's been involved in this division for a few years now and is a battler," said Blackwell to the club's official website.
"He is a fierce competitor, while he is also powerful, strong and at 27, he is coming up to the right age for a midfielder."
The former Portsmouth star could make his Leeds debut on Saturday after going straight into the squad that travel to Wigan.
