Sol misses Bayern test
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Sol Campbell will miss the return with Bayern.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Sol Campbell will miss the return leg with Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners have a mountain to climb if they are to overcome their first-leg deficit, as Bayern secured a 3-1 win over Arsenal.
Kolo Toure gave Arsenal hope when netting a late away goal and Wenger had hoped that Campbell would be able to return in time for the Highbury clash on March 9.
However, the ankle he injured against Manchester United earlier in the month is not responding quickly enough and the French tactician has confirmed Arsenal will have to take on Bayern without their defensive rock.
"Sol's ankle is still swollen," Wenger told the Evening Standard. "I am concerned and I have made up my mind that I will not consider him at all because he will not play in the next weeks.
"I would like him to be here but we have to be positive and we have to deal with it."
