Bellamy making enemies

Craig Bellamy has come under attack from Clyde defender Darren Sheridan.

Craig Bellamy has come under attack from Clyde defender Darren Sheridan for a lack of respect.

The two players had a run-in during Celtic's 5-0 cup demolition of the First Division side, a game in which Bellamy claimed his first goal for The Bhoys.

Now Sheridan has lifted the lid on the dispute, claiming that the on-loan Newcastle man was flaunting his wealth on the pitch and taunting the Clyde players.

Bellamy has a history of confrontation in the game, and was shipped out of St James' Park after a bitter dispute with manager Graeme Souness.

Controversy has followed him to Glasgow, after being accused of assault in February, and this latest incident will do little to improve his reputation in the game.

"He was on that pitch going on about how much money he was on," Sheridan told The Sun.

"Then he turned and said 'You will be doing my garden in the summer', that is why he is not liked - he just never shuts up.

"Let the football do the talking and he could shut anyone up, but Bellamy? Dearie me he was worse than my kids.

"I have been in the game a long time and I think you are due some respect.

"He scored, he did the business, why not stay quiet and say at the end 'unlucky mate' and then move on?"
