Ajax and Willem II moved into the last four of the Amstel Cup with wins on Wednesday evening.Amsterdam giants Ajax are looking to restore some pride after a poor campaign and their cup dream is still alive after a 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag at a snowy Zuiderpark.
The decisive goals came in the second half, with Wesley Sneijder setting them on their way with a strike on 55 minutes, firing home after Angelos Charisteas's effort had rebounded into his path, and the victory was sealed when Mauro Rosales netted in injury time.
Willem II had an easier evening, as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Den Bosch.
Iwan Redan netted early on, Albert van der Haar handed them a cushion on 23 minutes and the win was sealed when Hans Denissen added a late third.
