PSV launch Bonfim appeal
PSV Eindhoven have appealed against Fifa over the transfer of Leandro Bonfim.
PSV Eindhoven are set to appeal to Fifa after the international body sanctioned the controversial move of Leandro Bonfim. The Brazilian forward joined Porto in January, although the Dutch outfit have been demanding compensation for the player they helped to nurture.
PSV coach Guus Hiddink had stated he was prepared to let the player go despite his contract running until 2007, but a compensation package was never agreed.
The Eredivisie side are now set to appeal against the Fifa ruling, which stipulated that provisional permission for the 21-year-old to turn out for the Portuguese champions would be granted dependent on a fee being agreed in the near future.
Whilst the results of the appeal are yet to be seen, the two clubs continue to haggle over a suitable financial settlement.
