Ex-Spur moves to Norway

Valerenga have signed former Tottenham misfit Mbulelo Mabizela on a free transfer.

The South Africa international has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Norwegian side ahead of the start of the new season.

Mabizela has linked up with Valerenga after a frustrating time in The Premiership with Spurs and his new club hope to get the best out of the midfielder's talents.

"He has got a lot of potential which we hope to get out of him," assistant manager Lars Bohinen told the club's official website.

The 24-year-old joined Spurs in the summer of 2003 after impressing the North London club on a pre-season tour of South Africa.

He signed from Orlando Pirates but struggled to make an impact with the club, as he appeared just nine times for the first team.

Spurs released Mabizela in October and he is now hoping to relaunch his European career with Valerenga.
