Francesco Totti has been charged by the Italian FA over his criticism of the referee in Roma's defeat to Juventus.Totti castigated Pasquale Racalbuto in his personal column in Corierre dello Sport this week, after Juventus beat Roma 2-1 on Saturday.
A controversial penalty proved the decisive moment in the game, and Totti accused the referee of influencing the match in the favour of Juventus.
The disciplinary commission indicated that they would not tolerate the comments and they will now wait for the Roma captain's explanation.
The commission insisted that Totti's comments had to be considered disparaging of the referee's reputation and also undermined the development of the league.
