Gray apologises for brawl
Michael Gray has apologised for causing the mass brawl in Leeds' weekend draw.
Michael Gray has apologised for causing the mass brawl in Leeds United's 1-1 draw against Gillingham at the weekend that led to his sending off.The on-loan Blackburn Rovers defender reacted angrily to Darius Henderson's tackle near Leeds' dugout that led to both players seeing red.
Gray has conceded the ensuing scenes by the touchline were his fault and he should not have reacted to Henderson's challenge the way he did.
The 30-year-old is now banned for three games and will miss Leeds' upcoming fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Watford and Sheffield United.
"It was probably all my fault," explained Gray. "I went one step too far.
"It was all getting a little fiery out there and it was silly on my part to retaliate.
"But after what their lad did to me, anyone would have reacted the same way.
"There were two crates of drinks on the floor in front of our dugout and he pushed me into both of them.
"I still should not have got up so quickly, though, and run at him the way I did. I knew I was making a mistake.
"I regret what I did and said sorry to the lads in the dressing room as soon as the game was over."
