Owls solve keeper crisis
Sheffield Wednesday have signed Norwich City goalkeeper Paul Gallacher on loan.
Sheffield Wednesday have solved their goalkeeping crisis with the loan signing of Norwich City's Paul Gallacher.Owls boss Paul Sturrock has brought in the Scotland international for a four-week spell following David Lucas's knee injury in last Saturday's win over Blackpool at Hillsborough.
The 25-year-old has played for Sturrock before at Scottish Premier League side Dundee United - the club from where he moved to The Canaries last summer.
Having played in the shadow of Norwich number one Robert Green, Gallacher has decided to spend another loan spell away from Carrow Road, having played for Championship strugglers Gillingham earlier in the season.
"Paul was my goalkeeper at Dundee United and is experienced," Sturrock told the club's official website.
"He's played in The SPL and is still a young lad.
"Technically, he's a good keeper and we're hopeful that he will benefit from first team football."
