Michael Proctor looks set to end his loan spell with Swindon after the League One outfit admitted they could not finance a further deal.The striker joined on a month's loan from Rotherham in February thanks to finance raised by the club's Red Army Fund, and has grabbed two goals in four appearances so far for Andy King's side.
Saturday's game against Wrexham is likely to be the 24-year-old's last at The County Ground, and he will then return to Millmoor to join in Rotherham's inevitable crawl to relegation.
Swindon boss King conceded that the former Sunderland forward would be departing in the near future, and thanked the Robins faithful for their role in facilitating the loan deal.
"I must thank the Red Army Fund and the Supporters Club for their involvement in bringing the boy to Swindon, but it hasn't quite worked out as we would have hoped," King told the club's official website.
"I don't think we will be able to finance another month for him here but he is available Saturday, although at this moment in time I would say it would be his last game based on the finances."
King's attacking options will be reinforced with the news that Christian Roberts made a goalscoring return for the reserves after a two month lay-off due to a hernia operation, but midfielder Lee Holmes will also end his loan with Swindon and return to parent club Derby County.
