Celtic starlet extends deal

Scottish giants Celtic have extended the contract of youngster Rocco Quinn.

Scottish giants Celtic have extended the contract of youngster Rocco Quinn.

The midfielder has put pen to paper on a three-year deal which ties him to Celtic Park until June 2008.

The 18-year-old has risen through the ranks at the Glasgow outfit, and his ability has been recognised at international level, as he appeared for Scotland in the European Under-19 Championship in October.

Meanwhile, Bhoys boss Martin O'Neill is preparing his first team squad for Saturday's game against Dundee United in the knowledge that a win will take them clear of rivals Rangers at the top of the table.

A 2-0 victory against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Wednesday set The Bhoys up to usurp their rivals, and their manager is targeting more of the same at the weekend.

"We have a big match on Saturday and there's no doubt that it is a really big match for us and one we have to try and win," said O'Neill.

"We are not sure that would make any appreciable difference in the title race if we won and if we draw, then we maybe can't automatically go top.

"But we are right back in it, with this win at Inverness, and now we need to focus on Saturday's game."
