Week's rest for Adriano

Inter will know how long striker Adriano will be out of action for in a week.

Internazionale will know how long striker Adriano will be out of action for in a week's time.

The Brazil international was carried off just before half time in Inter's 3-2 win over Fiorentina on Sunday.

It had been feared Adriano could be out for some time, however those doubts appear to have abated somewhat.

Adriano, who is now out of Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Peru, will undergo further scans on his strained knee ligament following a short rest.

The Samba star was not in agony on the pitch after suffering the injury, but knew immediately his game was over.

"It was a really strange sensation, I wasn't in a lot of pain but I knew immediately I couldn't continue playing," he told the club's official website.

"Once back in the dressing-room, doctors sedated me and now after the checks I'm absolutely serene.

"I'll try everything to come back as soon as possible to help Inter. I thank everyone for the affection they have shown me."
