Ronaldo has admitted he lost his cool after being insulted by Real Madrid fans.
Ronaldo has admitted he lost his cool after being insulted by Real Madrid fans during the 1-0 win over Malaga on Sunday.The Brazilian striker allegedly threw a plastic water bottle towards spectators after abuse directed at his mother following his substitution five minutes from time.
"A boy came up to me and insulted me and my mother and I reacted," he explained.
There have been some suggestions that the abuse directed at the South American was of a racist nature.
It was not only the striker who came in for criticism from the Santiago Bernabeu faithful as the entire Real side were subjected to jeering as they struggled to overcome their lowly opponents.
Ronaldo received some especially harsh treatment after missing a number of good opportunities, but remained confident the team would win over fans if they could string together a few victories.
"It's logical that the crowd whistled, but as soon as we start winning the fans will be with us again," he continued.
"I don't know what happened but the chances I had just didn't go in."
