Chelsea would only loan Huth
Bayern Munich admit they will only be able to sign Robert Huth on loan.
Bayern Munich managing director Uli Hoeness has admitted the German giants will only be able to sign Chelsea's Robert Huth on loan.
Bayern have made the powerful centre back one of their top summer targets and recently made an enquiry to Stamford Bridge in a bid to sign the 20-year-old.
Although Huth is frustrated with a lack of first team football in London and is keen to press his claims for a place in Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup squad, Jose Mourinho has no intention of allowing the youngster to leave permanently.
"They won't sell him at any cost," Hoeness told Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
Hoeness did suggest that Mourinho would be willing to loan Huth out for the upcoming season in order to boost the player's chances of winning a place in Klinsmann's starting line-up next summer.
Bayern and Chelsea are due to meet in the UEFA Champions League next month and discussions have taken place regarding a possible move for Huth.
The Bavarian side are usually reluctant to enter the loan market, although they did farm Philipp Lahm out to Stuttgart, but the shortage of defenders at the club may force a rethink of their policy.
With Robert Kovac, Sammy Kuffour and veteran Thomas Linke all believed to be leaving the Saebener Strasse this summer, coach Felix Magath will have to raid the transfer market for adequate replacements.
Huth has also stressed he is happy to remain at Chelsea, providing Mourinho wants to keep him.
"I'm staying here unless the club wants to get rid of me," said the rugged stopper.
"It's not an issue even if some people say it is."
