Depor to cash in on Cesar
Deportivo have made up their mind to sell Premiership target Cesar in the summer.
Reports in Spain suggest that Deportivo have made up their mind to sell defender Cesar in the summer. The Spain international has only one more season left on his contract at the Riazor, and Depor will look to cash in this summer given the widespread interest in the powerful stopper.
Newcastle, who tabled an offer for the 27-year-old during the January transfer window, and Everton are reported to be ready to move at the end of the campaign, while Sevilla will try and keep the player in Spain.
Depor have deemed the former Oviedo star surplus to requirements following the hugely-successful integration of Fabricio Coloccini to their team.
The Argentine has been in exceptional form since his transfer window move from Milan and has established himself, alongside Jorge Andrade, as first-choice in the heart of Depor's rearguard.
Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro has confirmed that contact has been made with interested parties, but revealed no deal is, as yet, in place.
"There have only been initial contacts but there is no agreement with Cesar yet," he stated.
The player himself insists his future remains in the hands of Depor, and has not yet thought about a possible transfer.
"I am under contract with Deportivo and the decision corresponds to the club," Cesar stated. "After it has been made I will give my response."
