Nakata: Zoff can save us

Hidetoshi Nakata believes that Dino Zoff can steer Fiorentina to safety.

Speaking to Don Balon, Nakata is adamant that Viola can avoid relegation, insisting that everyone at the club is fully focused on salvation.

"At the start of the season we had a bad time," said Nakata.

"Fiorentina is a grand club and there is a lot of pressure here, but we hope that, little by little, we can improve our results and move up the table.

"We cannot talk about the distant future - we just have to take it game by game and to move up the table as far as possible.

"I do not have any long-term dreams - not of winning big titles anyway - at the moment.

"My target is to win points every Sunday so that the club can return to the position that its history and the fans deserve.

"Dino Zoff is a very experienced coach. We have to stay calm and try to concentrate on learning his philosophy.

"If we do it like this, I am sure he will give us the right mentality to move away from the drop zone."
