Ivan Helguera is anxious for answers from Spain coach Luis Aragones after not being called into the squad. The Real Madrid defender is currently being overlooked by Aragones after being dropped from the squad in October.
He was not selected for Saturday's friendly with China nor for Wednesday's 2006 World Cup qualifier against Serbia & Montenegro.
Helguera had been widely expected to be drafted back into the squad for the game against Serbia, with Aragones tipped to go for experience.
Those suggestions intensified when Carlos Marchena and David Navarro were forced to withdraw from the squad.
But Spain coach Aragones has opted not to bring in defensive replacements for that duo, leaving Helguera bemused.
The 30-year-old is keen to speak to Aragones about his omission as he wants to learn if he is being overlooked due to a clash of personalities.
"I ask myself why I haven't been called up and I just hope that it is nothing personal," Helguera told As.
"But with Marchena and David Navarro dropping out I think that the only players left in Spain who could have been called up are me and (Francisco) Pavon and even then it didn't happen.
"I want to talk to Luis because I need to know what is happening with me. I want to believe that it is nothing personal."
