Zambrotta committed to Juve
Chelsea target Gianluca Zambrotta has pledged his future to Juventus.
Gianluca Zambrotta has pledged his future to Juventus, in the face of strong interest from big-spending Chelsea. The Italian international has been mooted as a top summer target for Jose Mourinho, who is looking to strengthen his squad with a world class left-back.
Zambrotta certainly falls into this category as he has proved to be a vital player for both club and country in recent years, and, in the wake of the Ashley Cole tapping up row, the London outfit are reportedly ready to offer é¼35 million for the Bianconeri star.
However the former Bari man has moved to play down such speculation, insisting that he sees his future at Stadio Delle Alpi despite the financial rewards that a move to Chelsea would undoubtedly bring.
"I have a contract with Juve until 2008," said Zambrotta. "Being followed by big teams can only flatter, but I feel good at Juve.
"I hope to stay for a long time at Juve and in Italy."
Whilst the Bianconeri faithful will undoubtedly welcome such a public show of loyalty, reports in Italy are suggesting that Juve could be tempted to cash in on the player who joined for £10 million plus in 1999.
Whilst previous offers for the versatile player have been rebuffed, the impressive form of Giorgio Chiellini, currently on loan at Lazio, have led many to speculate that Fabio Capello could be willing to let one of his stars depart.
