Le Saux drops retirement hint

Graeme Le Saux has hinted he will call time on his career at the end of the season.

Southampton defender Graeme Le Saux has hinted he will call time on his career at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has an illustrious playing career that spans 17 years.

Le Saux, who earned 36 caps for England along with scoring against Brazil, is believed to ready to take up a job in the media.

With injuries finally catching up with the veteran defender, Le Saux is weighing up whether to play on next term or give his body an overdue rest.

"I love football and I've played quite a few games but the knocks are no surprise really considering the battering I've given my body," said Le Saux.

"There has been nothing major, just niggles and wear-and-tear injuries but it means I have another decision to make soon or face spending more time in the treatment room.

"I honestly don't know what to do yet because it has been my life professionally for 17 years, but after the summer break I'll see what offers there are."
