Sheva's Abramovich affection
Andrei Shevchenko has heaped praise on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
Andrei Shevchenko has heaped praise on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, a move sure to spark fresh speculation that the Milan marksman could head for Stamford Bridge.
The Ukraine striker has pledged to remain with the Rossoneri until his contract expires in 2009 and has no desire to represent another Serie A club.
However, he has revealed his great affection for Abramovich, who has funded a money-no-object transfer policy since arriving at Chelsea.
"I imagine my future at Milan, where I have prolonged [my contract] until 2009," Shevchenko told L'Equipe.
"Today, I could not play anywhere else in Italy.
"We will see at the end of my contract.
"Milan gave me everything and allowed me to win everything. It is important for me to feel at ease here.
"The tifosi [fans] love me. I have a very good relationship with the club.
"Why should I leave?
"However, I deeply respect Roman. I appreciate everything in him - his reliability, his work, what he wants to build and the way he works.
"He loves football. And what he wants, he builds it.
"We know each other and we talk.
"I like him."
The former Dynamo Kiev attacker is set to return for Milan in their UEFA Champions League quarter final with local rivals Inter on Wednesday, in a match live on Sky Sports 2.
