Ismael makes Werder pledge
Valerien Ismael insists he intends to see out his contract at Werder Bremen.
Werder Bremen defender Valerien Ismael has said he fully intends to see out his current contract at the Weserstadion. The influential French stopper, who had reportedly been a summer transfer target for Bayern Munich, told Syker Kreiszeitung that he was not looking to go anywhere and would like to increase the length of his stay at Werder.
"Whatever happens I'll be staying in Bremen. Werder is my club and I feel at home here," said Ismael.
"If the club wants to keep me then I'd love to start talking about it."
The former Strasbourg star denied that there had been any contact with Bayern after being tipped to replace Robert Kovac in Munich next season.
"New names are named more or less every day in Munich. I don't even think that Bayern really know what they want," added Ismael.
