Werder Bremen have offered Canada international Paul Stalteri a contract extension beyond this season.The 27-year-old had been expected to leave the Weserstadion when his current deal expires this summer.
Bremen have announced the signing of Patrick Owomoyela from Arminia Bielefeld but sport director Klaus Allofs says he would still like Stalteri to stay.
Ç£We never had the intention of letting him go and hope that he will decide to accept our offer,Ç¥ he said.
Meanwhile Bremen left back Ludovic Magnin has confirmed that he is tempted by a move to Stuttgart.
The Swiss international, who is out of contract this summer, confirmed talks with the Schwaben who are looking for a replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Philipp Lahm.
Magnin said: ǣStuttgart have made me a very good offer.
"I know what I can do and would probably have the chance of playing in the Champions League there."
