Robbo to back appeal

Bryan Robson says he will look to back any appeal by Jonathan Greening.

The Baggies boosted their hopes of survival by snatching a late point at Villa Park, but the game was marred by the dismissals of Greening and Villa defender Liam Ridgewell for locking horns in the middle of the park.

Despite replays appearing to suggest Greening was the aggressor, Robson feels his charge was treated harshly by referee Rob Styles and is ready to support an appeal.

"I think Ridgewell put his head to Jonathan Greening," Robson told Sky Sports News. "I would think most referees would have told the players to get on with it, it was a nothing incident.

"We will hopefully appeal against the decision because he does not deserve a three-match ban.

"You want all your best players to play, so that it why we will look at the video."

Paul Robinson was The Baggies' goalscoring hero and Robson feels he deserves all the plaudits for his fine displays this term.

"He's been terrific, he's signed a new contract and is on a high, he kept the boys on a high with his goal."

The Baggies moved out of the bottom three with the win and Robson is looking for his players to keep focused on the task ahead.

"We've still got a lot of work to do but the camaraderie is good, the results are good and we have to keep going in the remaining games," he said.

"We're hoping people will do us a favour because it's nice to look in the paper when you're not in the bottom three."
