Inter take action against fan

Internazionale have made a formal claim for damages against one of their own fans.

Internazionale have sent out a bold statement to its clubs misbehaving 'fans' by making a formal claim for damages.

This is the first time that an Italian club has decided to bring action against their own violent supporters.

The trial taking place involves one of the 'fans' arrested for the crowd violence in Tuesday's abandoned UEFA Champions League quarter-final with AC Milan.

With this decision the Nerazzurri want to give a clear signal to supporters that they will no longer tolerate fans using the stadium to provoke trouble.

"It is an important signal. It means the club want to distance themselves from those group of violent supporters," said Milan judge Fabio Roia.

Meanwhile, Inter's medical staff have confirmed that striker Adriano is suffering from a back problem.

There were fears that the Brazilian had suffered a recurrence of a knee ligament injury in their midweek UEFA Champions League clash with arch-rivals Milan.

But the Nerazzurri have stated a problem with the goalscorer's back and the South American is expected to miss Sunday's match against Cagliari.

He also remains a doubt for their midweek clash with Scudetto-chasing Juventus on Wednesday.
