Les Ferdinand's son is also training with Reading ahead of a possible chance to join the Championship play-off candidates.

Aaron Ferdinand is currently on the books of St Albans City but the youth team player could soon be making a step up after impressing Royals academy coach Eamonn Dolan.

 After training with Steve Coppell's men a fortnight ago, Ferdinand junior could be linking up with the Berkshire outfit on a more regular basis.

"He showed good potential," Dolan told Reading's official website. "He's got a great attitude and really fitted in.

"I had a good chat with Les about him and Aaron's probably now at the age where he needs to kick on.

"Les came into the game late so who knows?

"I was really impressed with the way he conducted himself and that's no surprise considering how his father is.

"Sir Les sets a great example."
