Bayern reject Bierhoff claims

Bayern Munich have slammed claims that Sebastian Deisler should move.

Bayern Munich have slammed suggestions by Oliver Bierhoff that Sebastian Deisler should leave the Bavarian giants.

The 25-year-old has spent the majority of the season as a substitute and coach Felix Magath has rejected criticism from Jurgen Kilnsmann to grant him more first team football.

Bierhoff - who is the managing director of the German national side - believes that the troubled midfielder's World Cup hopes would be enhanced by a move away from Bayern.

"With the World Cup in mind it would be good if he could star for a club like Hamburg where he would be an important figure," Bierhoff proposed.

Bayern have been quick to dismiss Bierhoff's comments, insisting that the German midfielder still has a future at the club.

"This is a free country and he's free to tell us his opinion, but that's really our business," stressed Bayern spokesman Markus Horwick.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also rebuffed claims that Deisler would leave the Olympic Stadium.

"He's tied to us until June 2006 and that's the end of discussion as we don't plan to loan him to another club," claimed Rummenigge.

Since joining the Bavarian giants from Hertha Berlin in 2002, the injury-prone playmaker has struggled to become a first team regular as well as suffering from depression.
