Lennon wants Leeds talks

Aaron Lennon is keen to hold contract talks with Leeds United.

Aaron Lennon is keen to hold contract talks with Leeds United amid rumours Tottenham Hotspur are ready to launch a bid for the teenager.

Spurs are being strongly linked with a move for the Leeds-born starlet this summer and land the youngster on the cheap from the cash-strapped West Yorkshire outfit.

Tottenham have landed some of the country's finest talents recently in the shape of Michael Dawson, Andy Reid, Tom Huddlestone and Calum Davenport.

Lennon, who recently turned 18, is due to have his deal reviewed and Leeds are keen to finalise a new deal in a bid to scare off the vultures circling for his signature.

"We haven't sat down yet to discuss a new deal but the time for that is not far away," explained Lennon.

"The point about it is that very often with players the situation is reached where it is out of your hands.

"It becomes a matter between your agent and the club representatives.

"All I can say is that I would dearly love to be in the Premiership with Leeds United with a good contract in hand."
