Carroll waits on decision
Roy Carroll is waiting before deciding where his future lies.
Out-of-favour Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll is waiting to see if he figures in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans before deciding his future. The Northern Ireland international is out of contract in the summer and as yet has failed to agree a new deal.
It has been suggested that Carroll will leave United at the end of the season with the club willing to let him leave.
United are believed to have made a new goalkeeper their top priority in the summer with Carroll and Tim Howard failing to hold down the number one jersey at Old Trafford.
Carroll lost his place in the side in February after his mistake in the defeat to Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
With contract talks stalling it had been reported that United had withdrawn their offer, but the player's agent Francis Martin has rejected that notion.
Martin revealed that both parties were still in talks over a new deal and that the keeper was facing a dilemma over his future.
"Neither of those stories are true," Martin told the Manchester Evening News.
"He has never said that he wouldn't sign the deal.
"His priority all along has been to stay at United. For their part the club have never said that they had withdrawn the offer.
"The situation has always been the same. We've had negotiations and we knew there wouldn't be any movement on the figures.
"One of the major factors for Roy has always been how he is valued and where he is in the pecking order. He's always wanted to get that clear in his mind."
