Rivaldo is targeting a recall to the Brazilian national team in time for the 2006 World Cup.The Olympiakos attacker was a key figure in Brazil regaining their World Cup crown in the Far East in 2002.
But Rivaldo has not played for his country since a 3-3 draw against Uruguay in November 2003.
He admits he dreams of a recall from Carlos Alberto Parreira and is even prepared to make up the numbers in the squad, just to be a part of things again.
"I would like to be recalled to the Brazilian national team," Rivaldo told Diario do Sao Paulo.
"I wouldn't mind even being a substitute.
"In addition, I would be very happy if I have the chance to play at least a few minutes in any game."
Rivaldo, who has pledged to stay at Olympiakos next season, accepts that it will be tough to force his way back into the Brazil set-up.
He added: "I know that there are currently players in the same position who are having very good performances like Kaka and Alex but I would be very happy if I could at least be part of the group of players that will go to Germany.
"I know that it's very difficult to be recalled but I have trust in my quality and in a coach who knows me and knows what I can give to the team."
