Kleberson wants starting spot

Kleberson remains confident that he can force his way into the Man Utd first team.

Kleberson remains confident that he can force his way into the Manchester United starting line-up on a regular basis.

The World Cup-winner has endured a fitful career at Old Trafford since joining the club from Atletico Paranaense in 2003.

His time at United has been blighted by injuries and he has made just three appearances for the club since the start of December.

But, after showing glimpses of his ability as a substitute against Charlton last weekend, Kleberson has now trained his sights on a starting role.

Though the Brazilian was linked with Corinthians during the winter months, he is determined to prove himself at Old Trafford.

While he may not earn a starting berth again this term, the midfielder is looking towards next season when he can break into Sir Alex Ferguson's first-choice XI.

"I have been coming into the team slowly but surely," Kleberson told MUTV.

"It is very difficult because I have had some long-term injuries and when I come on I want to do everything.

"A good performance can provide you with a lot of confidence to take into the next match or even into training.

"Hopefully, little by little, I will be able to make my way into the first XI."
