Messina's striker Riccardo Zampagna is dreaming of a place in the Uefa Cup for next season.The Sicilian side only secured promotion into Serie A last summer but have already ensured their top flight status and are aiming higher.
Messina are currently in seventh place in the table and Zampagna says that the club are eyeing a European spot.
"There is a big satisfaction to have secured salvation," said Zampagna.
"We have only played a few top flight matches and we have earned 44 points.
"But we also have the possibility of getting into the Uefa Cup and it's only right trying that we should try to achieve it."
Coach Bortolo Mutti prefers to avoid talking about Europe to keep the pressure off his players, but recently president Pietro Franza confessed he is hoping for an historical European qualification too.
