Striker departs Getafe
Getafe striker Michel has left the Primera club to join Segunda outfit Almeria.
Getafe striker Michel Carrilero Gonzalez, 'Michel', has left the Primera club to join Segunda outfit Almeria. The hit-man has been only a bit-part player for the Madrid-based side this term and has opted to move on in search of more regular first-team action.
The 27-year-old has penned a deal for the remainder of this term and the next two seasons at Almeria, but insists he harbours no grudges towards Getafe.
"When you are not playing and things are not going as you want it's difficult to imagine that things will change," he stated.
"I have weighed up the fact that in the second division I might have more chance of playing and know from the effort they have made they want me to play.
"I'm going because I want to play more.
"Getafe placed their faith in me and both the club and the fans have always supported me.
"I don't have a problem with him either (manager, Quique Flores), I have learnt many things from him but he has chosen to play other players."
