Cisse wants more time

Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse does not want the season to end.

Djibril Cisse does not want the season to end after completing his remarkable recovery from a horrific broken leg.

The French marksman suffered a shocking leg break at Blackburn back in October that looked to have ended his season, and could so easily have ended his career.

However, the former Auxerre man has worked hard to get back to fitness miles ahead of schedule, and returned to action as a substitute in Turin against Juventus.

Cisse has been growing with every substitute appearance, and looked sharp when coming on at half time at Arsenal on Sunday.

Rafa Benitez's men have just two games left of the season, welcoming Aston Villa to Anfield before heading off to Istanbul for the UEFA Champions League final against Milan.

Although Cisse should play some part in the huge showpiece event in Turkey, he still wishes there was more of the season left.

"It feels fantastic just to be involved in the big games we have at the moment," said Cisse.

"I came to Liverpool for the kind of excitement we are experiencing now.

"I just wish the season wouldn't end because I am really enjoying myself.

"It was tough being in the dressing room and watching the lads prepare for the Carling Cup final and the other big games this season but I just had to get on with it.

"Working hard in the gym was great for getting rid of my frustrations. My fitness is coming back slowly and I am trying to find the level I had before.

"My speed is not totally back yet either but that is natural because I have been out for so long. It is just a matter of time - and I wish I had a bit more of that."
