Murray pens Wolves deal

Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray has penned a new three-year deal at Molineux.

Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray has penned a new three-year deal at Molineux.

The former England Under-21 international has endured a season interrupted by injury which has restricted his involvement to just two games.

However, Glenn Hoddle remains a firm admirer of a player once tipped for the top and has rewarded him with a new long-term deal.

Murray admits that he has been frustrated by the injuries which have limited his playing time but is nevertheless looking to the future with renewed optimism.

"It has been a very frustrating couple of seasons for me, as you can imagine,'' Murray told stellargroup.co.uk.

''We were all on such a high when we got into The Premiership - I couldn't wait to play against the biggest teams in the country and in front of crowds of 50, 60 and 70,000.

''It was especially hard to make my comeback this season, thinking my problems were behind me, only for the injury to recur and force me back into rehab.

"Once I knew Glenn Hoddle was staying here it was an easy decision to make. The club have shown faith in me and I now intend to repay that by getting back to full fitness and playing a full part in a successful campaign next season.''
