Crystal Palace midfielder Vassilis Lakis has returned to Greek side AEK Athens.
Crystal Palace midfielder Vassilis Lakis has returned to Greece to sign for AEK Athens. The 28-year-old only arrived at Selhurst Park in September on a one-year deal from AEK.
Lakis has not been able to secure regular football under Iain Dowie this season and has decided to return to Greece.
AEK have announced that Lakis has agreed on a three-year deal to return to his former club after his brief spell in England.
"AEK has an agreement with Vassilis Lakis," said a club statement.
"The international midfielder returns to our team on a three-year contract."
Lakis was part of Otto Rehhagel's Greece squad that lifted the Euro 2004 trophy in Portugal, but he has failed to live up to expectations in The Premiership.
