Tranmere v Hartlepool preview
Hartlepool take a 2-0 lead to Prenton Park to face Tranmere in their League One play-off.
Hartlepool United take a 2-0 lead to Prenton Park to face Tranmere Rovers in their League One play-off, live on Sky Sports 1.A brace from Adam Boyd secured Pools a handy advantage from last week's first leg at Victoria Park and the visitors will be favourites to meet Sheffield Wednesday in the final.
Boyd's double in the first leg further enhanced his stock and Pools caretaker manager Martin Scott praised the young striker.
"People who don't know Adam Boyd have seen what he can do on Friday," Scott told Sky Sports News. "He has great ability and scored two quality goals.
"I'm just really pleased for him as he's shown people he can really work hard.
"If you get clean sheets, you win games as we've got players who can score goals, quality players who can turn games."
Scott is likely to name an unchanged side for the trip to Prenton Park, where Hartlepool lost 2-1 in League One at the start of the season.
Joel Porter is expected to stay on the bench after recovering from injury while Steven Istead and John Brackstone are available again after overcoming a bug and glandular fever respectively.
Tranmere boss Brian Little is remaining upbeat about his side's prospects of overturning a two-goal deficit to reach The Millennium Stadium for the final with The Owls.
Little said: "We've got a real difficult task but it's not impossible.
"That's what we are saying in the dressing room. We have got to believe we can do it."
Rovers also have no fresh injury problems for Tuesday's tussle, although Eugene Dadi could replace Theodore Whitmore in the starting line-up, with Little poised to start with a more attack-minded formation.
