Drogba admits problems

Chelsea star Didier Drogba admits he has found it hard to settle in England.

Chelsea star Didier Drogba admits he has found it hard to settle in England.

The Ivory Coast striker cost £24 million when he arrived from Marseille last summer.

He has bagged 16 goals, but has not had the impact many expected and Drogba admits he misses his French life.

"I'm feeling a bit homesick," Drogba told L'Equipe.

"Life in England is not easy. You have to adapt and I'm finding that difficult. It's so different. My morale has suffered from that.

"On the other hand there have been fantastic moments such as the title celebrations with Chelsea.

"That was unforgettable and that's what I came for. You have to admit that football in England is something really exceptional."

Drogba admits that he would love to return to Marseille at some point in his career.

"Marseille is in my heart. I said it when I left and I haven't changed my mind in a few months," he added.

"Now I'm English champion and one day, I want to be French champion, preferably with Marseille, obviously.

"But I would return to Marseille only if they had a team who could fight for the title. It's not the case today, with or without me."

The African also admitted that he would fight any player for his place in the side.

Internazionale's Adriano has been strongly linked with Stamford Bridge and Drogba says he would probably not be able to play with the Brazilian because of Chelsea's system

"Like everyone I read in the newspapers that Chelsea are interested in Adriano," he said.

"I don't think we would be able to play together. It is not the coach's system. He prefers only one centre forward.

"I repeat I am at Chelsea and I will remain in August. If Adriano or another big forward comes, we will see.

"We will notably see if he is ready to defend like mad for the team's good, as I did this season. I really don't fear anyone."
