Croatian striker Tomislav Sokota looks to be on his way to Hertha Berlin after Benfica agreed a deal with their German counterparts.Reports in the Portuguese press have suggested Sokota is ready to ink a three-year deal after agreeing terms with the Bundesliga outfit.
The 26-year-old was thought to be interesting several clubs across the continent but it is Berlin who have now stolen a march on Sokota's other suitors.
It is anticipated that the player will travel to Berlin next week to undergo a medical and put pen-to-paper.
Having enjoyed a successful season, Hertha chief Falko Gotz is keen to bolster his strike-force in time for the increased demands of European football.
Gotz has been linked with a series of high-profile front men, including Dortmund's Jan Koller, Bochum's Vratislav Lokvenc and Rennes star Alexander Frei but it would appear he has now landed his man with the signing of Sokota.
